Baobab Lovers, the must-see tree of the Alley of the Baobabs


Baobab Alley is one of the routes to the Grand Hotel at Tsingy in Bemaraha. Today, we are not going to talk about the ecolodge but a mythical tree located in the heart of this famous tourist site. In fact, they are two trees intertwined and which the locals call "the Love Baobab".

A love of a tree!


The Baobab Alley site is a tourist hotspot that attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world every year. While some enjoy the moment of serenity offered by the place, others view each baobab to know its peculiarities. Among the unmissable baobabs of the town, you will observe the famous Baobab Amoureux, composed of two baobabs twisted between them as if they were an inseparable couple.


Tourists are amazed by these two loving trees which brave time but which never tire of their embrace. Of the species "Adansonia Fony", they have two independent roots but with intertwined trunks reaching 30m high. It is an inexplicable phenomenon offered by mother nature.

Love in the air


If the baobab in love integrates its roots in the ground, its aura emerges as a kind of passion that attracts visitors. Indeed, many myths have been invented around this tree, including the chance offered to the passing couple who touches the tree, and the strengthening of a solid union that can only be defeated in front of the sacred tree.

The legend attests that all the lovers who unite at the foot of the tree will see their strong love as a rock. And if one day they want to separate, they must go there to untie this unique bond.

For those who want to stay put, a place of accommodation has been erected near this mythical tree. The name Camp Amoureux was chosen in honor of the Baobab Amoureux. A restaurant is open on site and offers a unique view of the sacred tree.
