Discover Madagascar by paragliding flyover with Thomas de Dorlodot

Some of you do not know Thomas or Tom de Dorlodot yet. This man is however well known by the adventurers thanks to his countless expeditions in the air. Not by plane but rather by paragliding.

As he pointed out in his many reports, Madagascar had already attracted his attention for a long time. He wanted to visit at all costs this small piece of land detached from the African continent which offered steep cliffs and a pleasant ocean wind, propitious for paragliding flights.

The opportunity was presented to him. He landed on Malagasy soil and was ready to explore the big island by paragliding with his friends. Once there, it was easier said than done.

The rest of the adventure

From north to south, the experience was not an easy task because of the heat but also the disrepair of the road. Even in the off-road car, traveling 100km was a difficult test. Once they landed on a particular point on the Big Island, they had to walk to reach the highest point.

Fortunately, the local population was there to help them find their way to the mountains. Thanks to some locals, the adventure continued by canoe, jeep and even on foot. You had to crisscross narrow paths to find a great starting spot. And to thank them, one of the crews decided to take a villager in tandem flight. What made him the hero of the village.
During the expedition, the team was made up of gliders Horacio Llorens, Theo de Blic, and Harold (brother of Thomas) as well as photographers Benoît Delfosse and John Stapels. According to them, paragliding was a nice way to break the ice. The main thing was to immerse yourself in another culture, to get to know the way of life of other people, and certainly to live these moments by flying over Madagascar in paragliding.

So, tempted ? Get ready because it will be your turn soon!
